With its cool minimalist vibe and just the right amount of industrial style, the hardwearing concrete coffee table is sweeping home lovers off their feet.

A concrete coffee table is a true statement piece when it comes to living room and outdoor furniture. It elevates rooms, ties a space together beautifully and it works well inside and out. But it’s not just its good looks and versatility that have Aussies caught up in the concrete craze. Concrete tables are also durable and stable – two things we all want our furniture to be, especially with kids and pets in the house!

Start preparing space in your living room, because we’re shortlisted the standout concrete coffee tables available in Australia right now.

Why choose a concrete coffee table?

There’s a lot to love about these robust additions to living and leisure zones. Here are just a few of the reasons we can’t get enough of concrete:

  • Strength – Even when made with glass-fibre reinforced cement for less weight, coffee tables are seriously strong and able to withstand a lot of weight. (Cue that heavy centrepiece you’ve had your eye on!)
  • Versatility – Concrete styles come with the good looks of a marble table, but the added convenience of working well anywhere, whether in a living room paired with a set of swivel chairs or on an outdoor terrace.
  • Varied shapes – One of the coolest things about concrete is it can be used to create almost any shape. So when it comes to coffee tables, you’re not limited to just round and rectangular options. After a round table to pair with a curved sofa? No problem.
  • Neutral palette – Concrete usually comes in natural shades of white, black or grey, making it easy to partner with existing furniture and decor.
  • Industrial vibes – From chic warehouse apartments to urban townhouses, a concrete table brings a fab touch of industrial minimalism to the space.
  • Less maintenance than wood – While wooden tables often require oiling and some degree of care over the course of their lives, a concrete table needs little in the way of maintenance.

FAQs

Are concrete coffee tables heavy?

You may be surprised to learn that, thanks to modern technology, many concrete tables are actually lighter than comparable solid wood options. The use of glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC) gives many of these modern tables toughness and stability without all the weight of solid wood or traditional concrete.

Does a concrete table stain?

While most modern concrete tables are sealed to help prevent stains, it doesn’t mean that they’re completely resistant to them. Be extra diligent when it comes to spills on your beloved concrete table – especially if it’s a light colour. If spills and stains are commonplace in your house, a glass coffee table might be a better choice.

Are concrete tables durable?

Concrete tables are very durable. In fact, they often stand the test of time better than wood which is more prone to chipping and denting. Concrete handles itself well in the heat and cold, and it doesn’t scratch – that means it will retain that designer look for years.
