The historic Fantasy Glades theme park has just hit the market in Port Macquarie, and prospective buyers are jumping at the chance to ‘live happily ever after’.

Forgotten by the public since its closure in 2002, the sprawling Fantasy Glades property has recently been listed with Port Macquarie agents, McGrath.

The sale comes with approvals to build nine new self-contained cottages and a parkland cafe, giving new owners the opportunity to restore the park for a new generation and invite more tourism to the beachside location.

Fantasy Glades dates right back to 1968 when it was opened by the Whitakers as a fairy-tale-style theme park complete with medieval castles and amusements for kids and families.

Locals fondly remember attractions such as Cinderella’s Castle, The Old Woman’s Shoe, Snow White’s Diamond Mind and a dragon with flashing eyes, to name just a few.

Once the gates closed some 20 years ago, Fantasy Glades succumbed to its rainforest surroundings, falling into disarray. But according to Domain, the current owner Jeff Crowe has made significant improvements to the property in recent years, preparing it for an exciting new chapter.

While there is no current asking price published, expressions of interest are invited and underway.
