When we took on our huge Modern Farmhouse renovation, we knew we wanted to use cladding on the exterior. But what we never anticipated was how much we’d fall in love with interior wall cladding for feature walls inside the home.
From the living room to the bathroom, the sleek sophistication of interior cladding panels creates strong focal points in this house. It was an opportunity to get creative and add some wow factor to rooms right throughout a home. And best of all, it’s a timeless touch that delivers awesome depth and character to spaces.

Bathroom Walls
From the outset, we really wanted to create a sense of space in this ensuite, especially because it was a completely new room without high ceilings. Running verticle subway tiles up parts of the wall was an easy choice because it created continuity with the Guest Bathroom, but it wasn’t until we saw the Alfresco area come to life with James Hardie’s Axon™ Cladding that we jumped on the idea of using it in the ensuite.

Kitchen Bench and Rangehood
With products like tiles, laminate and stone top of mind for kitchens, few renovators think to use interior wall cladding in this space. But trust us when we say, the result is so effective and hardwearing, it will continue to wow you (and your guests) for years to come.
Again, we used Axon™ Cladding in this dynamic kitchen. However, unlike the bathroom cladding, we opted 400mm groves for a more dynamic finish.
Like all James Hardie products, the panels arrived pre-primed and ready for us to paint, saving time, money and effort.
Aside from the stunning linear aesthetics of this product, what makes it so perfect for kitchens is its durability. It’s resistant to fire, termites, rot and moisture damage. Better still, it’s much easier to maintain that timber because it doesn’t swell, crack or splinter over time.

Living Room Fireplace
This fireplace was always destined to be the star of the room, but interior wall cladding took it to a whole new level!

Limestone Cladding
We fell so deeply in love with the Limestone Cladding used around the outdoor fireplace that we just had to bring it indoors. As fate would have it, the living room fireplace turned out to be the perfect spot to show it off!
Though we mixed up the layout a bit from the outdoor version, it still brings all the same textural richness inside. It’s the wow factor you want in a relaxing room.
And can we talk about the colour? Against the deep wooden tones of the Chevron Nordic Isocore Flooring and the darkness of the fireplace, it delivers gorgeous contrast and complements just about any decor style the owners throw at it.

Guest Room
In this Study/Guest Room, we wanted to add some texture to the walls without creating a colour clash with the hero cabinetry. Interior wall cladding was the answer and we’re obsessed with how well it works in this environment.
The Axon™ panels in 400mm spacing bring flair and personality to the bedhead and bulkhead, with beautifully defined grooves for the right touch of detail.
The other walls of this room are largely occupied by windows, but had they not been, we’d have jumped at the chance to use more of this!
