With everything from elevated container pools to resort-worthy showstoppers, the National Poolz Awards returned in 2024 to celebrate the best pools in Australia.

After weeks of deliberating and thousands of votes, the winners have finally been announced!

What are the Poolz Awards?

Free for builders to enter across a range of categories, the Poolz Awards awards are an opportunity for industry guns to showcase (and show off) their incredible pool feats to the rest of the nation. It’s also a one-stop shop of inspiration for homeowners looking to get that little bit closer to their dream pool by checking out Australia’s very best pools.

And if this year’s entries are any indication, no job is too big for the best in the business.

Poolz Awards Categories

Because every pool comes with its own criteria and challenges, Poolz presented 23 categories for entry in 2024. Among them were three People’s Choice Awards that gave the public the chance to cast a vote for the best Fibreglass, Concrete and Plunge Pools in Australia.

Other categories included Australia’s Most Expensive Pool, Most Insta-Worthy Pool, Best Hamptons-Style Pool, Best Pool on a Steep Slope, Best Pool and Slide, Most Expensive Pool (over $300,000 to build!) and Best Pool With A View – because we all know the pool itself is just the beginning.

Entrants were allowed to enter more than one category.

Australia’s Best Overall Pool For 2024

After counting thousands of public votes and points contributed by a private panel of expert industry judges, the Poolz Award winners have been decided for 2024!

With an overwhelming number of votes and points, Best Pool in Australia went to FreeStyle Pools for its concrete beauty in Seaforth, NSW.

The resortworthy pool also took out the titles of Best Concrete Pool and Best Out-Of-Ground Pool.

Spanning a huge 10 metres and melding seamlessly with the design of the modern Sydney home, it is the undisputed hero of the outdoor space – even rivalling the view.

Both the pool and spa are lined with Ezarri glass mosaic tiles for a peaceful and inviting hue, and the reflection of the sky creates the illusion of an infinity edge. It’s pure luxury at every turn.

• Most Insta-Worthy Pool: Feature Pools – Red Hill South, VIC
• Best Out-Of-Ground Pool: FreeStyle Pools – Seaforth, NSW
• Best Pool With A View: Coolabah Building and Landscapes – Kallista, VIC

People’s Choice Award Winners

The People’s Choice Awards were an opportunity for the general public to have an opinion on Australia’s greatest pool builds. Here’s what the voters thought:

• Best Concrete Pool: LifeStyle Pools – Seaforth, NSW
• Best Fibreglass Pool: Leisure Pools Sydney – Hunters Hill, NSW
• Best Plunge Pool: Pool Project Management – Arundel, QLD

The Nominees 2024

A total of 165 pools were nominated for the 2024 awards. Brace for some serious backyard envy as we step you through some of our favourite entrants for this year’s awards.

Best pool with a view nominee

This category was open to any pool with a breathtaking view or incredible backdrop and one of our favourites for 2024 is this architectural gem from Shipping Container Pools, Sunshine Coast QLD. Completely frameless, it measures 24 metres in length and offers spectacular views of the countryside.

Best plunge pool nominee

Entrants for the best plunge pool have to be no more than 6m x 3m in size and can be either custom-built or prefabricated. The FreeStyle Pools, Berowra Heights NSW entry was one of the most luxe in the lineup.

Best pool and spa nominee

Long, luxe and befitting an outdoor lifestyle, the Coolabah Build & Landscape, Brighton VIC pool knocks it out of the park. It features a fully tiled interior and window for peeking through to the adjacent fire pit!

Best acreage pool nominee

You can almost smell the outback air just by looking at this one. Equipped with a waterfall, lounging area and length to lap away in, this pool from Bloomin Deserts Landscaping and Pools, Ilparpa NT has been custom-designed for the Northern Territory environment.
