Halloween doesn’t end with costumes and candy, no Siree. One of the main characters of Halloween is actually your house, so great decorations are a must!

Aside from the spook factor, which is a ten out of ten from us, Jen Alvarez has won us over with her awesome use of monochrome decor. With no orange in sight, she uses black pumpkins and bats with spooky white skeletons for what we think is the most stylish Halloween ensemble of the year. Take a look below at some fab ideas for interior decor, including a bar cart that really is next level.
Just Hangin Out
This sensational display by Alexandra Morse goes to show that so often, less is more. With just black balloons, white skellies and bright orange buckets, the playful scene positively pops against the white weatherboard house. Gotta say, we wouldn’t mind hanging out with these guys while greeting trick-or-treaters!
Leave Your Hat Here
How fabulous are these floating witches’ hats?! It’s not only guaranteed to get loads of oohs and ahhs from passersby, but it’s an affordable way to add high impact to homes. We adore the use of rustic broomsticks and quirky props to to bring it all together. Spooktacular!
Caught In The Web
There are Halloween houses, and then there’s this absolute masterpiece. Brought to life with a rather large stockpile of black and white balloons, it’s as memorable as it is fun. Don’t you love the cheeky glint in the spider’s eye, you can bet it’s got a few candy hauls in its sights.
Larger Than Life
From The Event Collective, this is another Halloween creation that uses the power of balloons to essentially win Halloween. Loving the strategic use of deep red balloons to suggest some sinister blood-filled goings-on. And can we talk about the giant skeletons? Next level.
Don’t Walk .. RUN!
Admittedly, we haven’t seen a skeleton (or rather, half a skeleton) quite this big in Australia, but if you’re the creative type with time on your hands, perhaps it’s a project worth taking on. From Party City in the US, this gigantic skeleton looks just like it’s crawling out of the Earth – and you really don’t need to do much else to your house with something this wow out the front!
Candy Corn Monster House
Christine McConnell isn’t just a Halloween visionary, but she’s also a very talented artist, so we won’t hold it against you if you can’t decorate your home to this standard! The ideas this brings to mind, though, are fabulous: pumpkins scattered around haystacks, glowing orange windows against a black house, and those fangs – like something out of a horror movie. Dare To Enter?
We don’t know what’s scarier – the house or its inhabitants! From Spooky Thankful Merry, this amazing Halloween house is equal parts Children Of The Corn and Pirates of The Caribbean – and we are here for it! We love the use of corn stalks at the entrance, rustic skeletons and loads of monochrome elements to make the whole facade pop. Like other examples, this seriously clever creation uses a few colours really well, and boy, does it work a treat.
Creepy Crawlies
Where you’ll find a gigantic spider, we don’t know, but if by chance you do – let us know! This incredible front yard is exactly the kind of sensation everyone hopes to see on Halloween and we love that the impact of the spider isn’t diluted by too many other decorations. Just a really big web, an unfortunate victim and a huge eight-legged beast; this is Halloween done right.
