To celebrate the launch of the WD-40 Repair Challenge 2026, we’re giving away five $100 Bunnings vouchers to lucky Making HOME members!

The WD-40 Repair Challenge 2026 has just launched nationally (March 1 – April 18), inviting Australians to showcase repairs of all sizes, from simple household fixes to larger restorations. Now in its fourth year, the initiative not only awards prize money but supports grassroots organisations, including non-profit organisation Repair Cafe and, for 2026, The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA).

As more Australians are choosing to repair, not replace, a renewed pride in practical skills is reshaping how we care for the things we own. From small household fixes to ambitious restorations, repair culture is gaining momentum as people look to save money, develop skills, reduce waste and extend the life of well-loved items.

The Challenge is a global initiative that recognises projects of all sizes, proving that no repair is too small to make a difference.

This year, the winning entry will not only receive $5000 in prize money but can direct an equal donation to a local community repair initiative.

How To Enter

Complete the form below, ensuring you answer the question in your own words (no AI, please).

This is a game of skill; our team will select one winner based on the best answer. See our Terms & Conditions.

  • I’m currently needing a new tap in the kitchen as our is very old, disgusting and bit broken. Taps are also expensive if you want a good one.

  • Our door hinges are SO loud they wake the kids the second we try to sneak out after bedtime. With little ones who already struggle to settle, it’s painful! I have every faith a quick hit of WD-40 would sort it instantly and save everyone’s sleep.

  • Too many things , my bathroom taps, bathroom doors, garden things, car, cleaning , you just name it and I need it to fix. Even my bathroom door’s handle , it’s broken and I go inside after locking my room’s door and my husband just got annoyed with this 😁.

  • If I were lucky enough to win, I would fix the gaps in the windows in our home where the cold air gets in in the winter and I would like also get some nice rugs for the floors.

  • A creaky wardrobe door that’s almost falling to the floor, a wobbly painting hanging on the wall, will need a ladder as I’m not so tall, hoping I don’t fall.
Gluing a side rail that has failed, and fixing a slack screen door that has come off the track.

  • Anything that needs fixing!

  • I wouldn’t fix anything. My husband is the handyman at home and is always fixing things around the house and for other people too. So, I guess the answer is anything that needs fixing.

  • I would like to fix my front door and the skirting boards in my house cause they are weathered with water damage

  • Extra shelving to create more space so it isn’t so crowded! I’d love to do an art space for the kids!

  • Need to fix up a few things with our retro caravan to keep us up and running for little trips away.

  • I would fix up the garden and add new garden bed as i want to grow my own vegetables

  • I would paint and seal and regrout my bathrooms and laundries giving them a fresh new feeling to continue on.

  • My squeaky ensuite door! My husband wakes me up every morning getting ready for work and matched with kids distupting my sleep through the night this makes for a cranky Mum!

  • I need to build a catico for my cats so they can be inside and outside safely. A great way to have their litter outside with access through a window entry,

  • My bathroom needs new grout and waterproofing on the cabinet which is falling apart please.

  • I’d fix the leaking roof and damaged ceiling of our new house!!

  • I would fix all our plants which are dwindling away and need some new pots, potting mix and materials to plant. Before when I watered them they were all looking sad and in need of an upgrade.

  • After moving into a new place we are now finding those creaky doors needing to adjust to limit the noise and fences to ensure the ease of opening and shutting

  • My spare room needs to be modernised so I would buy some paint from Bunnings and either a new light fitting or a blind for the window- and if there’s any money left maybe a floating shelf.

  • The lawnmower, we need to keep it running smoothly because being aged pensioners we can’t afford to replace it at the moment
