To celebrate the launch of the WD-40 Repair Challenge 2026, we’re giving away five $100 Bunnings vouchers to lucky Making HOME members!

The WD-40 Repair Challenge 2026 has just launched nationally (March 1 – April 18), inviting Australians to showcase repairs of all sizes, from simple household fixes to larger restorations. Now in its fourth year, the initiative not only awards prize money but supports grassroots organisations, including non-profit organisation Repair Cafe and, for 2026, The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA).

As more Australians are choosing to repair, not replace, a renewed pride in practical skills is reshaping how we care for the things we own. From small household fixes to ambitious restorations, repair culture is gaining momentum as people look to save money, develop skills, reduce waste and extend the life of well-loved items.

The Challenge is a global initiative that recognises projects of all sizes, proving that no repair is too small to make a difference.

This year, the winning entry will not only receive $5000 in prize money but can direct an equal donation to a local community repair initiative.

How To Enter

Complete the form below, ensuring you answer the question in your own words (no AI, please).

This is a game of skill; our team will select one winner based on the best answer. See our Terms & Conditions.

  • I would finally hide the fridge cords and make my kitchen look neat and tidy again.

  • I have been going to replace the broken shower head for years and this would be the end of the final excuse (I always seem to spend the allocated money on a more urgent project) and to get it done

  • My kitchen it is missing some door handles has lots of marks from all the love it has had over the year but now it is time for an upgrade

  • My kids swing set!! They make the most horrendous squeaking noise whenever the kids are on them, and WD40 would be the best solution for it!!

  • My sons room needs some replastering and repainting.

  • My front door! The dodgy DIY with the wrong paint needs fixing majorly as it’s the first thing you see when you enter my home! It needs a good sand back, a prime and paint and the locks need a good lubing up with the WD-40 too so they stop sticking!

  • I’m so keen to transform the old metal shell of an antique cubby house in our backyard, into something modern, practical and user-friendly. The kids have been asking for years, and this year I’m committed to the challenge! I want to create something exciting and inviting, and I plan to use the old, sturdy foundations, to make it happen!

  • I’d statt by fixing the sticky mobs on our outdoor bbq. It needs a good spray & clean.
Stocking up on the WD40 products for all the jobs would be great.

  • I would find little diy projects to make the house better places around the home like kitchen cabinets and doors

  • The kids bikes need some TLC!

  • Fixing bathroom, new seals around bath, waterproofing side of cabinet and adding strip to bottom of shower screen door.

  • I would sort out the odd jobs I’ve not gotten round too like putting up a shelf for my ducks (wooden of course!) and stock on cleaning supplies, cleaning NEVER ends! Cleaning is fixing the house, right?

  • I would fix the kids bikes they don’t definitely need some tlc and WB40 would come in very handy.

  • I would fix our ensuite window. It needs a replacement track and a good spray of WD-40 to roll like a dream again

  • I’d fix our leaking roof and repaint the ceiling where the water leaked through and discoloured the paint.

  • I would fix the kids bikes and my old swinging chair and touch up the hinges in the house.

  • I would stock up on WD40, I would use it for the gas stove knobs as they get stuck a lot as well as the keyhole for my doors. I would also buy some new light blubs around the house and look into getting some updated decor!

  • I’d set myself up to repair the hallway leak,
I’’d silicone the gap, wd40 the door hinge,
Replace the cladding, give it a paint,
I’d get hubby involved in the reno binge.

  • The back yard needs a major overhaul.Plants, outdoor furniture and I could use some more wd40 to fix the squeaky bathroom door.

  • I would like to refresh my balcony, it needs some tile deep cleaning and adding shelf and some paint jobs.
